OUTLINE TIMETABLE OF THE YEAR’S ACTIVITIES
The season for Inter Macc JFC will run from May 1st to April 30th. This allows the Club to
be active in May and June for training and friendly matches in preparation for the
following season, before closing in July and August for the summer holidays. September
to December will see the Club fully active with training and league matches. After a short
break for Christmas and New Year, the training and matches will continue until the end
of the active season in March. Following this we will continue the training and have
friendly matches until the end of April, with the end of season presentations being held in
April.
THE ACADEMY, TRAINING AND THE TEAMS
All Club members will receive training in the Inter Macc Academy, which provides the
‘pool’ of footballers from which the teams will draw their players. There will be one
training day per week for all Club members, with one match per week for the U8’s and
older (subject to conditions). The U8’s will play in the Marple League whilst the older
teams will play in the Stockport Metro League. These matches will be played on
Saturday mornings and the training will be held on weekday evenings on various days
depending on the team.
The U8’s, U9’s and U10’s, playing 7 a-side, will draw 10 players for each team, whilst
the U11’s, playing 11 a-side, will draw 14 for each team. These will be drawn at the
beginning of May and January. This will ensure that all team members who turn up for a
match will play in that match, thus avoiding the disappointment that can occur if the
teams are too large and there is no time for all to play. The teams will be ‘floated’ on
their abilities, rather than having pre-determined ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ teams. However, there will
be two transfer windows in each season, where players can be moved into teams from
the Academy to replace others who will be moved back into the Academy, thus allowing
the team managers to develop their squads.
Team members who are not able to play in a match must inform their team
manager immediately to allow the manager to assess the position. It may be that
due to various circumstances the teams playing cannot field sufficient players, so
it is then up to the team manager to contact the necessary player(s) in the
Academy to see if any are available to play. There is no cost to these players for
helping the teams, but it does provide useful match practice for them.
Alongside the team manager at each match will be the team coach, who will
observe the match and note problems, both individual and team. At training the
following week, the coach will run the session for the team and work on the
problems that have been identified. The coach will liaise with the team manager
to ensure that solutions are adopted at the next match.
For the younger footballers, the U5’s U6’s and U7’s will train with their future
coach and play ‘friendly’ matches in a relaxed format. The idea for new players
already being attached to a team at the younger age bracket will support our
development further in providing quality supervision and coaching to children in
the community.
